…Im a man of wealth and taste. OK well no I am actually a female and I like to think I have taste even if I’m lacking the wealth part, but now that I have your attention. The Rolling Stones aside please allow me to really introduce myself… hello my name is Liza and I am a music junkie. But you probably figured out the latter from my blog name. Seriously my life is influenced by music and does seem to have a soundtrack all its own. I walk to the beat of my own drum and dance to my own tune because I’m not just a passionate music fan or someone who attends concerts and buys CDs. Music is my life. It surrounds everything I do. I see music in the every day, mundane tasks and probably could find a lyric to describe every situation, mood or person. I’m that person who doesn’t just buy a CD I study the words like books of poetry because to me music writers are like our modern day versions of Chaucer, Shakespeare or Poe.
Without music to me the world would be boring and honestly a world without music is one I don’t want to be a part of. I think attending concerts is as necessary for me as breathing. Some may call me a fanatic but I pay them no mind because through a passion for music I have met so many wonderful people I can call friends from all walks of life, different parts of the world and all ages who share my mutual love. It truly is the universal language. So call me what you will because I call myself someone who appreciates the beauty that hangs in every note the guitar howls or the singer croons. Or every beat the drums or synthesizer produces. Or every line that is written like a work of art be it from a rock, techno, rap or pop tune.
I’m not prejudice in what I listen to because I will give anything a chance before I judge and I am very open. I’ve seen so many concerts that represent pretty much every genre and every decade. So I’m not your average music fan and hope others will appreciate my take on music and the world. I want to expose everyone to new music they may not have heard. I want to write reviews of concerts, CDs and clubs and conduct interviews from an average music fan’s perspective not one like “professional” critic or a music snob. I want to invite everyone to please read be it a casual fan or diehard like me. I hope if you don’t understand why myself and so many others think we would rather be deaf then live without music that my blog can educate some too. I also am writing because of a deep appreciation for the beauty that lies in all types of music from rap to rock. So please join me on my musical ride but be forewarned you may want to buckle up because this could get very, very interesting but it will no doubt be fun. In the future I will also provide songs or CD recommendations with each blog that I think everyone should hear and I am open to suggestions as well. Viva la music! XOXO -Liza
